Peru, Republic. An Order of the Sun of Peru, Commander Republic of In late 1924(Orden del Sol del Per). Instituted in 1821 by General San Martin. Type II (1921 ). A Commander, in silver gilt, presenting multiple clusters of five rays, the central medallion features the Peruvian coat of arms surrounded by a red and white enamelled ring inscribed EL SOL DEL PERU 1821, surmounted by a green enamelled laurel and oak leaf wreath, the reverse plain with a single central rivet, measures 58. 4 mm (w) x 88. 0 mm (h inclusive of wreath),
